Each fic is to be posted no later than the deadline which is 11:59pm (23:59) PDT on their assigned posting date. Not sure what time that relates to you? Check here.
A late post will be able to receive half their points and no posts will result in a zero.
It is crucial that if at anytime you are not able to complete your fic to let one of us mods know so that we can get a pinch-hitter to cover for you.

Are there going to be more Check-Ins?

Yes there will be two more; one on Friday, July 28th and one on Friday August 4th.
If you haven't already checked-in for this weekend do so now.
These check-ins are mandatory so that we mods can keep track of who is still participating, who might need help with coaching and who might need to step out of the olympics.

On those check-in days another post will be made to the DW where you can post your status.

Is there a word count? A word limit? Any sort of limitations?

Nope, not really but we do expect at least 1000 words. There aren’t any restrictions aside from that; nsfw is fine, character death is fine etc, but we do ask for them to be properly tagged and have a warning. If you have a tag you want us to use so that we can properly protect you, you can respond below or message any of the mods!

Where can I post my fic?

We are asking for every writer to make a post here on the Kurofai DW so that all the votes will be here on the official DW to be counted. You can choose to post your full fic on your own DW or another hosting site such as A03 or FFN (no tumblr- sorry not sorry) but remember you are still required to make a post here.

How do I format my fic?

If you are posting off site then you will need a link in your DW post and if you are posting on site then you will need to put it under a cut. Need help making a cut? Here are some options.

Each story should have the official rubric included in the post, but here it is for your reference anyway:
1. How in-character was this fic? (1-10)
2. How well did this fic handle the prompt? (1-10)
3. How well did this fic fit their team’s theme? (1-10)
4. How much did you enjoy this fic overall? (1-10)

1 is poor and 10 is supreme

Who is allowed to vote?

Writers and mods are not allowed to vote. If you were a writer but then had to pull out of the competition, you can vote. If you are a DW user you can vote. If you are not a DW user you can vote but you will need to have link in your comment to some sort of social media so we can find you. We don’t accept totally anonymous votes, it must have some sort of identifier.

And just a reminder, if the fic is hosted on another site the votes on the official DW post will be counted only. If you leave scores on A03 or FFN it will not be counted.

We do greatly encourage you to leave comments for the authors though!

When is the end of the voting period?

There will be a two week voting period that will end Saturday, August 26th to give as much time for all these wonderful fics to be read and enjoyed! No need to rush our valued readers in making their scores.
