Well you certainly created an entirely unique way to fill the prompt. It was impressive that you managed to tie so much of the prompt through your world’s timeline. I would have liked to know a bit more about Fei Wang’s back story as you seemed to kind of gloss over how the world came to be in its current apocalyptic state (other than mentioning Fei Wang causing the Gods/Goddesses to fall with the roar of his beast). The way you wrote the story the vagueness did fit as the characters are more set on moving towards the future. However, I still feel having a bit more info thrown in about how/why Fei Wang rose up, how the Gods/Goddesses fell, and why their blood in the water is so harmful to living things, would help to embellish the prompt a bit more.

You did a positively stunning job! Everything flowed wonderfully and was paced well (though Fei Wang’s end seemed rather abrupt). I loved how you were able to draw me right into the world that you created and how real all of the characters were. It was fun to follow along as Kurogane figured things out about Fai and how Fai related to his own past.
How much did I enjoy this fic overall? 9.5
My only real complaint is that the reader did not discover a bit more about how the world got into its apocalyptic state (the points I mentioned in the 1st section). Other than that, I loved the story! I was able to make discoveries and have revelations right along with Kurogane (something that has always been a big plus for me). I loved how you wrote in such a wonderfully descriptive fashion that not only did the world you created seem real but the characters did too. What I probably enjoyed most is how much depth you managed to give the characters. It really is a beautiful piece of work.
