Rules of the Olympics

Be nice to each other - should go without saying
Remember to check in - We will have three checkins during the writing period. Let us know how you are going during the checkins. If you don't checkin a Pinch Hitter will be called in to help
Let the mods know if you won't make the posting dates - Life happens. We all know that but please let the mods know if something comes up. We can see how we can best accommodate you and if necessary call in a Pinch Hitter
Post on time - Writers who miss their posting deadline will have points deducted from their score. Incomplete fics will also have points deducted
Tag your fics - This is very important! Remember to tag triggery content and any themes so our readers know what they are getting into. As part of the scoring readers will be asked if you tagged the fic correctly
Not Safe for Newbies (NSFN) - please use this tag if you have anything that refers to events after Acid Tokyo.
Have fun - While this is a competition the most important thing is to have fun.

Due to our overwhelming response we are closing Signups early. Thank you all so much for getting behind this years Olympics.

We now have 10 people braving the sea, 10 people exploring space, 8 people ready to Beta fics and 5 people willing to step up to the plate if a team needs a last minute back up.

As we are closing Signups early we will be releasing Prompts early. Prompts will be release on 22nd May at 5pm PDT.

Official teams will be posted later today or tomorrow.

We have had an overwhelming response to Singups in just three days. Currently we have 10 people who want to brave the Sea and 8 people that want to explore Space, which is a bit more than we planned.

Originally we planned to have between 5 and 7 people on each team. We can stretch our plans and prompts to accommodate everyone if we have more Beta and Pinch Hitter volunteers. Without more people volunteering for these two team we will unfortunately have to enforce limits on the team sizes which we would prefer not to do.

So anyone willing to help out in a pinch or go over someones work please raise your hand and let the mods know.

During the writing period there will be mandatory checkups with the mods just to let us know how you are going.

Now, we may not be Psychic type, but we have a strong feeling why you are here:

Starting today, 13 May 2019 and going until 25 May 2019, sign ups for the annual KuroFai Olympics will occur. Prompts will be released after Team rosters are completed. We hope to receive between five (5) and seven (7) teammates each for Team Sea and Team Space as well as four (4) Pinchhitters.

For those seeking love and adventures above and below 20,000 leagues, Team Sea welcomes you.

For those seeking glory and romance among the constellations, Team Space welcomes you.

For those brave souls, ready to take over command should the need arise, Team Pinchhitter seeks your application. For those unfamiliar, or just want a refresher course, Pinchhitter writers are back up for when a fellow writer is unable to continue the journey, for one reason or another.

For those who seek to assist the captain of these intrepid explorers, Team Beta would like to hear from you. Team Beta is not a writing team but a support, those who offer assistance in beta reading a atory for the authour.

Voting

Mods are not allowed to vote bit they are allowed to Read and Review. If you were a Writer but then had to pull out of the competition, you can vote on all stories. If you are a current Writer, you may vote on fics except your own fic(s). If you are a DW user you can vote on all fics. If you are not a DW user you can vote but you will need to have some link in your comment to some sort of social media so we can find you. We don’t accept totally anonymous votes, it must have some sort of identifier.

And just a reminder, if the fic is hosted on another site the votes on the official DW post will be counted only. If you leave scores on A03 or FFN it will not be counted.

We do greatly encourage you to leave comments for the authors though! Writers love that stuff.

Is it another Ice Age? No that's just me standing in the freezer to stay chill.

So while we're trying to beat that heat, how's those stories coming along? This is rather fishy but as I was clownfishing around, I saw a Starfished email about betas. Sea now that ImI done horsing around, whale get to the request and leave an angler.
